Hey guys,
One of the things I love about doing coaching calls is that, when I listen to all of your stories, it helps me pick out the pieces of my own story that are actually universal.
There were glimmers of hope and pieces of insight along the way, that I didn’t necessarily realize were going to be key at the time— all I could do is hope that the promise of recovery would be true.
And somehow, it turned out to be. Somehow, I made it to the place I once barely dared to hope I’d be.
I’d almost forgotten, actually, until it came up on a coaching call last night.
How scared I once was, three years ago, when I first got sick.
Looking back, I was so lucky that I got steered onto the right course relatively quickly, in the grand scheme of things.
Not only did I find the right doctors, to give me the right diagnosis, but I also got steered onto the right path— where I learned to not only address the symptoms, but to look at how this sort of “limbic system trauma” can be rooted in the brain.
As one of my clients pointed out recently, there are so many approaches out there which focus on things like medication and supplements— all external ways of treating the problem.
These are all important— no doubt ketotifen, vitamin D, and iron have all played a huge role in my journey.
But with secondary mast cell activation, things can also get dramatically better when you — as Dr. Castells put it— “change the underneath.”
That is what I did, to get to this place— I changed my underneath. I changed my brain.
The beginning of recovery for me was learning that it was possible.
And now I’m here to tell you that it is.
