How I use gratitude + DNRS principles to boost brain healing

Hey everyone,

Here’s a little video I actually made a while ago. I show you the ways I implement the principles of brain retraining – specifically, the Dynamic Neural Retraining System— in daily life.

Brain retraining, sometimes also referred to as neural retraining, involves getting your brain out of the state of “fight or flight” and into a state of “rest and digest.”

It might sound simple, but when you truly get your brain into a state of healing, it can have huge effects throughout your whole body.

Why is this?

The immune system and the nervous system are inextricably linked. In fact, one of my doctors said they aren’t really as separate as people normally think they are.

You can actually have a huge impact on how your immune system responds to the world around you, by helping to teach your brain and limbic system that you aren’t really in danger, and don’t need it send these strong danger signals.

To heal from mast cell activation syndrome, I took many different steps, all recommended by my doctor.

Lifestyle changes, nutrition, medication (which I eventually was able to stop)… all of these played a role.

However, the brain retraining component was a huge part in helping to calm down this reaction, and it’s also one of the ways I maintained my recovery.

To truly implement DNRS, you need to commit to doing it for an hour a day, every day for 6 months. I did that, and it definitely helped me.

As time went on, I became more familiar with the principles, and ended up incorporating them even more into my daily life, outside of my formal practice.

Then, once I had completed my 6 months, I kept going by implementing these practices, helping me to maintain my recovery and eventually taper off of my medication completely.

In the video above, I show you one way I implement the principle of gratitude, and give my brain the chance to “practice” being in the peaceful state of rest and digest.

It’s simple, and yet not. It took me a lot of time and practice to be able to develop this technique, where I can tap into this healing state relatively easily.

I hope this video is helpful for you!
